Fayette Fishing Report

Great day on Lake Fayette, near La Grange.  Lake was not too crowded considering it's the start of a Holiday weekend.  Water is lightly stained with temperatures in the high 90's.  I saw plenty of dead bait-fish west of this location, which may indicate low oxygen levels caused by the high temperature.  Not much bass activity (not surprising considering the low O2 levels).  If you're after bass I suggest you focus on the East side of the lake.
However, catfish were biting on anything that could reach 18 feet or deeper.  Green Rapala DT18 crankbaits were a favorite, but they really were hitting anything that moves.  Also saw some deer, including two babies, near the power plant.

I cut the day short after rain moved in.
