Fayette Fishing Report - 17 July 2011 - Bass Gone Wild!

Weather predicted afternoon thunderstorm.  Dark ominous clouds most of the morning.  Bass were very active ahead of the storm, hitting on purple plastic worms. Bass were about ten feet down suspended over deeper water.  They were also relating to deep structure around this spot and points north.  Be extra careful inside the hazard markers.

The storm missed us, and the bite waned as the front passed.

Lots of catfish around this spot, and inside the timber to the south.   Slow afternoon with breathtaking robin-egg blue skies.

Towards sunset the bass moved into shallow water  I moved into one of my favorite spots here.  I got a couple of reaction strikes on a black spinnerbait but nothing hooked up.
